Keith and Dufftown Railway are intending to have an anniversary celebration this year over the weekend of 25th and 26th August. 2012 is the 150th anniversary of the line’s opening. Their target is to have an operating steam railway engine for the first time since the line’s opening in 2000, indeed since the 1960s.
Tom Dubern director of the railway would like to invite some steam traction engines to Dufftown, to generate public interest and bring steam back to Dufftown. There is large area of tarmac yard to display traction engines.
