The Club Committee and Members were saddened to hear of the tragic accident that claimed the life of Haulage Contractor and Steam Enthusiast Alfie Cheyne Snr.
Alfie enjoyed a lifelong interest in the vintage scene and his Fowler Showman’s “Jubilee” and Sentinel Waggon “Midnight” regularly attended our club events.
He was a well-liked and much respected character who was well known for his stories of experiences in Road Haulage and Steam Preservation and will be sadly missed.
Our thoughts are with Gladys and the family at this difficult time.
The funeral is at 11:30am on Friday 6th December at St Andrews Parish Church Turriff. Thereafter to King Edward Church Yard and on to Banff Springs Hotel for lunch and drinks.
Family flowers only. All friends respectfully invited. We are not taking out any steam engines.
