The Club Committee and Members were saddened to hear of the tragic accident that claimed the life of Haulage Contractor and Steam Enthusiast Alfie Cheyne Snr.
Alfie enjoyed a lifelong interest in the vintage scene and his Fowler Showman’s “Jubilee” and Sentinel Waggon “Midnight” regularly attended our club events.
He was a well-liked and much respected character who was well known for his stories of experiences in Road Haulage and Steam Preservation and will be sadly missed.
Our thoughts are with Gladys and the family at this difficult time.
